Children's fears in the Third place
21.05.2022 – 03.07.2022
Venue: The Third Place. Liteyny Prospekt, 62
Curator: Polina Mogilina
Three MYTH artists participate in the group project "Monsters under the Bed" – about the transformation of childhood fears into states of anxiety, trauma and obsession through personal experience.
Especially for the exhibition, Lisa Bobkova created a stainless steel sculpture "Darling, our kite has fallen" and presented her textile installation "Greedily loving a cute little friend" (2020).
Vadim Mikhailov is represented at the exhibition twice – with seven works in the space of the Sever-7 group and the installation "Fearlessness" jointly with Emilia Sangi.
In the hall with the work of Lisa Bobkova, you will meet the "Ipatiev Room" by Egor Fedorichev – painting on tarpaulin and advertising banners about the untreated trauma left by the communist regime.
"The world of children's fears is populated by monsters, ghosts and monsters that hide under the bed and show themselves only in the dark, while adults do not see. Along with the characters of fairy tales and fantastic creatures, they are, though frightening, but an integral part of the children's picture of the world. " Curator Polina Mogilina.
