Fathers and children

“Fathers and children” exhibition is based on a laconic principle: artists create portraits of their children, and children – of their parents-artists. In this process of mutual images manifest features of relations between very close people.

With each of the works in front of the viewer is a piece of family life, a personal story, transformed by creative action – emotionally rich, mobile, complex. Somewhere in the portrait of the child caught the features of the parent. In children’s work slips influence of the artist-adult.

The creativity of the child is free from the clichés and imperatives of academic education. It can teach some art professionals. At the exhibition an adult generation doesn’t act as a mentor, but it’s an equal part of the Duo, in which the attention of artists is focused on each other.

This is not only a fascinating experience for an outside observer, but also an experiment for the authors themselves. After all, it’s impossible to predict what will appear in such a semi-mirror interaction. It’s exciting to see yourself from the side, and even the eyes of the closest person. And in children’s works sincerity and spontaneity are especially strong.
