Fictional Landscapes

A group exhibition has opened at The Foundry Downtown Dubai, featuring canvases by the MYTH Gallery artist Anna Afonina.

Fictional Landscapes, a groundbreaking exhibition showcasing 28 women artists across five galleries in various media: from textiles and painting to video and performances. The aim of the project is to emphasize the representation, visibility and appreciation of women's work in the modern art world. The exhibition explores the themes of space and place from the point of view of women who transform their own feelings and thoughts into art.

Two paintings by Anna Afonina address the phenomenon of hybrid subjectivity, a concept from political theory that describes the relationship between subjects and the constant change of active roles between them. In her works, the artist appeals to such relationships using the example of the interaction of a hunter and a victim.
