General cleaning in the zoological museum

In June of this year, Katya Isaeva became the winner of the competition of the 17th festival of contemporary art "Alanika", aimed at creating concepts of art projects for participating museums.

The artist uses an interdisciplinary approach in many of her projects, and this time was no exception. As a result of a study tour to Vladikavkaz, Katya prepared the project "General cleaning in the zoology museum" at the Museum of the Gorsky State Agrarian University.

Alexander Dashevsky, curator of the festival, describes the project: "the caring hand of the artist restored the lost labels, literally "voiced" the stuffed birds collected by the famous ornithologist Professor Lev Böhme, recorded an interview with his granddaughter, supplemented the museum collection with items related to taxidermy". As a result of the careful intervention of the artist, the project became part of the permanent exhibition.
