Vera Trachtenberg about the personal exhibition of Egor Fedorychev: "In the Red Garden project, fragments of Egor's "archaeological paintings" are derived from Flemish still lifes: they include images of wild birds and rabbit carcasses. He deconstructs the images used in traditional painting, gradually dissolving the images on the surface of the canvas, which is sewn into the fabric used for army tents. The combination of the fragile, fleeting ghosts of dead animals with the rough, brutal textures, used during the war, allows the artist to create a powerful statement about the fleeting, ephemeral nature of the traditional school of painting in a modern, military context. This statement is emphasized by the beautiful exposition: gor's paintings are suspended from the ceiling with metal hooks, like carcasses in a butcher shop. They seduce and frighten at the same time."
