CONTOUR 2026
15.05.2026 – 17.05.2026
Venue: Red Barracks (east building). Nizhny Novgorod, , Nizhne-Volzhskaya embankment, 1B
MYTH Gallery will make its debut at the Contour Contemporary Art Fair, presenting a booth conceived as a space for focused observation—a deliberate parallel to the German Kupferstichkabinett (Cabinet of Prints), the institution dedicated to the preservation and scholarly study of works on paper.Historically, the Cabinet of Prints implies an intimate engagement with the sheet: closeness to the image, juxtaposition of techniques, eras, and narratives. It is precisely this logic of examining and collecting visual testimonies of our time that will serve as the conceptual foundation of the stand.
Works by Lyudmila Baronina, Egor Fedorychev, Katya Isaeva, Petr Kirusha, and Irina Korina will form a distinctive anthology of contemporary “papres,” each recording the mutation of social structures, cultural codes, and human presence. Baronina’s pencil series models alternative configurations of the social order; Isaeva employs silkscreen to forge hybrid monuments of cultural memory, fusing historical imagery with popular music. Korina uses acrylic markers to overpaint fragments of everyday reality; Kirusha shifts the perspective of mundane moments through watercolor; while Fedorychev, returning to the medium of graphic art for the first time since 2019, explores the motif of the individual within the crowd.
Thus, the booth will function as a local iteration of the Cabinet of Prints—a gallery’s archive, where disparate artistic languages register the manifold ways of seeing and describing the world today.
