Alexandra Paperno’s works are now in the collection of the Tretyakov gallery

On October 25, the Foundation of V. Smirnov and K. Sorokin donated to the State Tretyakov gallery a collection of 100 works of contemporary Russian authors and an archive that reflected the key events of the Russian art market of the last 15 years.
Among the works of the collection are three works by Alexandra Paperno:
- Lepus (from the Star maps series), 2003, mixed media on canvas, 150×120 cm;
- Pictor (from the Star maps series), 2003, mixed media on canvas, 150×120 cm;
- Untitled (from the Birds series), 2009, acrylic and rice paper on canvas, 200×160 cm.
A large-scale exhibition of donated works will be held in April 2020 in the New Tretyakov gallery. The inclusion of these works in the collection of the state institution will allow presenting the work of contemporary Russian artists in the permanent exposition of the XX-XXI centuries at the Krymsky Val.
