Reminiscent of the Moscow apartment where the artist lives and works, the tranquil, empty room in Alexandra Paperno’s Untitled, from the Rooms series is rendered in a borderline abstract manner with muted monochromatic shades. This work is part of a series of five prints utilising a special lithographic technique developed after months of study. Paperno’s off-centre perspective of a amiliar space infuses the work with a sense of wonder, hinting at things left unsaid about personal universes.
